TÜV Süd Technical Inspectorate certifies trans-o-flex IT-Service in accordance with the ISO 20000 standard which also prescribes customer-oriented processes and continuous further development
Weinheim, 14 June 2011 - trans-o-flex IT-Service GmbH, the internal service provider of trans-o-flex Logistics Group for all EDP issues, has received certification according to ISO/IEC 20000:2005 from the TÜV Süd Technical Inspectorate. "Concealed behind this standard is the only genuine standard for IT Service Management", says Werner Haas, Managing Director of trans-o-flex IT-Service. "As a result, we can prove that we have implemented and successfully established a process-oriented management approach, that the entire IT operation is oriented to customer needs and quality management and continuous improvement processes are firmly established in our organisation."
According to Haas, the ISO 20000 does not replace the ISO 9000, in accordance with which trans-o-flex has been certified. Rather, the standard is a special adaptation of the quality management for the field of information technology (IT). "For IT service providers, a certification according to ISO 20000 is therefore considerably more meaningful than a certification according to the quality management standard ISO 9000." In a similar fashion to the ISO 9000, the certification of trans-o-flex IT-Service is valid for three years. After this, a complete repeat audit must be carried out. In addition, an inspection is held every year.
At trans-o-flex IT Service GmbH, a subsidiary of trans-o-flex Schnell-Lieferdienst, all of the employees numbering more than 60 were involved in the preparation of the certification in the past two years. The IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), in which all processes are described according to the best practice in each case, was used as a basis. Once the necessary process descriptions had been prepared, extensive training courses were held and organisational changes gradually implemented. "We are not just interested in the certificate on the wall", says Werner Haas. "Rather, our IT service is intended to optimally support all customers and their business processes. With the certification we have once again taken an important step on the path to achieving this objective."
