trans-o-flex ThermoMed's subsidiary Scherübl introduces unique high-tech delivery system

Unique service in Austria: delivery confirmation, including temperature documentation, immediately after the delivery - New technology also helps to avoid mistakes and relieves the drivers
Vienna / Weinheim, 17th November 2010 - Following the conversion to new delivery computers, Scherübl Transport GmbH, the Austrian subsidiary of trans-o-flex ThermoMed GmbH & Co. KG with a special focus on the actively temperature-controlled transportation of pharmaceutical products, now offers a nation-wide unique shipment tracking system. This new high-tech system uses radio data transmission technology to send a delivery confirmation immediately after the delivery has been completed. The information sent not only includes the usual shipment and recipient data but also uninterrupted temperature documentation. "In Austria, we are the only company to offer such a service", says Carsten Glos, Managing Director of the trans-o-flex ThermoMed Group, a subsidiary of Österreichische Post AG. The company also operates nationwide networks in Germany and the Benelux countries for the transportation of goods that need to be stored within a temperature range of 2 to 8 °C or 15 to 25 °C. "Thanks to our investment in this new technology, our customers immediately receive the delivery and temperature data, which also accelerates their invoicing processes."
The name of this sophisticated system and its new delivery computers is trans-o-flex easy. Given the exact standards, the third generation of the mobile devices - partly developed by trans-o-flex internally - also increases the process reliability and, for example, helps to avoid mistakes in the loading process. An acoustic warning signal is released if the driver should load a wrong shipment. In this case, he can only continue working, when the parcel has been scanned and taken over by the driver who is responsible for delivering it. In addition to this, the new technology will also help to relieve the drivers because, after the introduction phase, a "double-entry bookkeeping" using both delivery computers and paper copies will no longer be necessary. In the future, it will be sufficient to use the mobile computer when delivering the shipments and send an electronic and forgery-proof delivery confirmation.
With the introduction of the system in Austria, the entire trans-o-flex ThermoMed Group will now operate a standardised IT solution. "However, our country organisations not only work with standard delivery systems but also use our standard Toks operating system", explains Glos. Toks is the name of the trans-o-flex operating core system and provides the basis for all internal processes. The system controls the handling and acquisition of information for all shipments and parcels and also includes programmes such as planning, process control and customer service. "Having introduced Toks and trans-o-flex easy, we are now able to ensure the smooth flow of all temperature-controlled transport processes within the entire ThermoMed network", concludes Glos. "Thus, we have taken another step to distinguish ourselves from our Austrian competitors in terms of quality."
